 Ann St. Roughly where I've placed the pin was where a couple of houses were hit by German bombs in WW2. The houses were never replaced & a gap is still in that terrace today (see my photo) . The photo is from my www.oldtyneside.co.uk website. The little caravan stands where houses were hit & people died. |

 This land with the black coloured sheds was the Newcastle Shipbuilding Companies from 1919 to 1921 when it went bankrupt. The sheds stood empty for quite a while & in the late 20s early 30s the Reay Gear Works took over the sheds & started producing gearwheels & gearboxes. George Angus & Co eventually took over & later in the late 50s early 60s it became R W Transmissions. It finally closed down in the mid 70s & is now a housing Estate called 'Tyne View' |
