| Southend Stadium. Opened for greyhound racing Sept 1931 after an earlier promotion at Southend United's Kursaal ground had closed due to disagreement over a rent rise. Ironically, one year after this photo the football club moved into the greyhound stadium, where they remained until 1955. |
