More water? Perhaps "lake" is a wide river. |

This could be Cranfleet Farm near the old Trent Station. In the distance by the water could be Thrumpton Hall |

Class 31 has contacted me asking if I know where this could be as it was thought to be near Spondon and or British Celanese. I do not recognise either houses or river/lake I'm afraid. It is not Elvaston Castle or the River Derwent. Sorry. |

Many thanks for looking. As you can see no one else knows where this is. Your local knowledge is helpful in eliminating Spondon as the location of this photo. |

In case it's of any use i attempted increase the contrast of the farther, larger house (a small stately home?) in case it's shape is easier to discern. As the water body widens i assume its been dammed to produce a grand 'lake' and there's only a narrow area of grass. |

I saw my first photograph of Framlingham Castle today and for a moment I thought this was it but on closer inspection it has to be discarded. |

I have tried to change the wrong location of this one but the system will not allow me. Bicton, Shropshire is wrong. |

Please ignore my mistaken identification of this photo. I have tonight examined Elvaston Castle with a fine toothed comb to try to get it to fit but to no avail. For information Elvaston Castle is very close to the original Aerofilms Ltd register entry of 'British Celenese Co Spondon Derby'. Good luck everybody in finding this location. |

Hullo all, I see where you are coming from on this one, suggesting a view from Oxon Hall towards Berwick House, but we can't quite make it fit particularly given the variations in tree cover and the nature of the river course in that area. Unfortunately the original Aerofilms Ltd Register entry is "British Celanese Co Spondon Derby", not much help... Yours, Katy Britain from Above Cataloguing Team Leader |

Suggest that this is Berwick House near Shrewsbury on the banks of the River Severn. |

I'm prepared to put my hat in the ring on this one and suggest that this is view taken from above Oxon Hall looking northwest over the River Severn towards Berwick House with the Shrewsbury to Gobowen railway line in the distance. The river looks like a lake but this could be the effect of high rainfall upstream causing flooding. Oxon Hall and Berwick House are listed buildings. I shall try to firm up this identification. |
