This is certainly Kinlochard. I lived there as a young boy. I think I can see the hamlet of Cooligarten and also the Viaduct from Loch Katrine, however, the image resolution is too low. Is there any way to see a higher res photo? Thanks in advance |

Thanks for Identification! I have checked this against the modern OS, and Google Earth and I'm happy to accept the identification of Loch Ard Forest looking towards the Trossachs. I have put in a request to update the record, and the corrected details will appear here in due course. Best wishes, Brian Wilkinson Britain from Above Activity Officer (Scotland). |

I think that TomRobin has it but there are some unanswered questions. Where is Loch Chon? Where is Duchray Water? It would be helpful if we could identify more in the photo. |

Pretty sure that this is Loch Ard, western end looking north. The hills behind are Ben Venue and Beinn Bhreac, with a deeply incised valley between them. The houses being the hamlet of Kinlochard |

Not Loch Eck, there are houses visible in the photo at the loch head, also no river valley to the NW |
