This is actually a British Railways service, from Marylebone, so could be heading to all places this side of Nottingham, or High Wycombe, or empty stock.

This line, linked at Cricklewood by a triangular junction to the Midland Main line from St Pancras, remains an important connection between that main line and other parts of the railway network. It enables cross-London freights and engineering trains to access the Midland Main line or to come from it to reach other parts of London, including the SE of London. (The lack of suitable clearances and the steep gradients through the 'Thameslink' connection do not allow freight trains to use that more direct route!)
