This could well be the 'Falaise', built for the Southern Railway by Wm. Denny & Bros Ltd of Dumbarton, and delivered to Southampton on 14 June 1947. The superstructure appears to match. The vessel had a maximum speed of nearly 21 knots and was powered by steam turbines generating 8,500 shaft horsepower; 3,710 gross tons. Used on the Southampton-St Malo service at this time.
