This is a former engine shed for a light railway that ran from Aerodrome Road around the aerodrome (RAF Hendon) through to Edgware Road. The shed now sits in Montrose Playing Fields as a store. |

Would love to see a photo of this building now, there are very few structures remaining that were contemporary with the aerodrome. Yours, Katy |

Hayland Close. At the top of this close is a fine and rather elaborate Tudor style house complete with thatched roof. It was I believe, designed by Ernest Trobridge, many examples of whose work are to be found in the area. |

General Motors Frigidaire plant. This building was originally used by the Aircraft Manufacturing Co during WW1. The company folded in 1922 and the plant was taken over by GM for the assembly of Chevrolet trucks. That operation was moved to Luton in 1930, becoming Bedford Trucks, and freeing the Hendon plant for the manufacture of GM's Frigidaire refrigerators. |
