The title including the place name 'Queensbury' is erroneous, for no such place existed until about 1933 or 34 after the Metropolitan Railway had built their branch to Stanmore and a name was being sought for the new station serving a previously ill-defined and undeveloped area. The name was decided by a competition, the winning name obviously being an allusion to nearby Kingsbury. The Met Railway employed a similar method for arriving at a name for their new station at Northwood Hills. |
