Pre-fab homes on Silver Jubilee Park The edges of Silver Jubilee Park alongside Townsend Lane and Kingsbury Road were one of the sites chosen by Wembley Borough Council for building "pre-fabs", the temporary factory-made bungalows used to provide homes for those in the most urgent need after the Second World War. The pre-fabs on this site were used from 1946 until the early 1960's. The photograph alongside this comment shows pre-fabs in on the park, across Kingsbury Road from Holy Innocents' Church in September 1956, when this wedding photograph (kindly shared with Wembley History Society earlier this year by Brenda Smith) was taken.
