They look like prefabs.



They were temporary prefabricated buildings that were constructed to ease the post-war housing shortage. The Kingsbury and Wembley areas were particularly well supplied. (Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts grew up in one just off Fryent Way.)



Although the were a 'temporary' measure, they were popular with their occupants and many prefabs existed into the 1960s, some time after their anticipated lifespan.



I believe that there are a few that still exist throughout the country.

They are definitely pre-fabs. My uncle remembers them on the edge of what is now Jubilee Park on Townsend Lane. I live on that road now.
