The mill probably dates from circa 1892-3, and was said to be the first large modern flour mill west of Cardiff in South Wales. Weaver was a miller and flour merchant, who ran the City Mills at Worcester. [Company prospectus, Western Daily Press 8-1-1892 p 4]

The mill was intended - in 1892 - to have an output of 3,000 sacks of flour per week
