| Interesting shot of Hounslow West station. This pin is on the last remaining section of the original Hounslow Barracks (as originally named, until 1925) station building (shortly before it's demolition) standing adjacent to the new station building, on which work is still continuing.
Also noticeable is the fact that there are three trains in the station - probably a rare occurence! |

| The platform seems to be decorated with planters (they look a bit like Daleks) with flowers and trees. Does this link with the orchard/nursery that was clear cut across to build the station. |

Er no, these are the 'tombstone' station nameboards! London Underground stations, even those on the open sections, have lots of nameboards. |

| Metropolitan District Railway open 1884. Piccadilly services commenced 1933 and District Line services ceased in 1964. This being 1931, several District Line trains can be seen in the platforms. Today it is no longer a open-air terminus as tracks now drive down into a short tunnel to the valley of the River Crane on their way to Heathrow. The octagonal station building remains, with car parks over the new station. |

The station is actually heptagonal (seven-sided), not octagonal (eight-sided). Ealing Common station is very similar. |
