| This is the prepared route for the Stanmore branch of the Metropolitan Railway (later Bakerloo and Jubilee lines), which opened at the end of 1932. I do wonder about the stated date of this photograph (1931). I believe that it may have been taken a year or two prior to this. The progress of the Metropolitan Railway Stanmore branch construction is hardly discernible. Work started in 1929. Kingsbury County School moved to its new site in Princes Avenue in 1931. The site shown is still open fields. |
