Does anyone know what this building was? In the mid 1960s I cycled past it every day on the path at the side the of the river colne, which was badly polluted at this point, and worse lower due to the gasworks

It was one of the old Sedgwick's brewery buildings. The brewery was taken over by Benskin's brewery (across the High St) in 1923. The building to its right (with a Benskin's sign on it) was another old Sedgwick's brewery building. It remained until the Waterfields retail park was built on the site. It was a curious building with a steep ramp running to an upper level. It might originally have been a grain or hop storage building and the ramp used to receive deliveries.
