Evidence here of the VERY tight curve that once existed between the old Hounslow Town station and Hounslow Barracks (later named Hounslow West) station. The junction and curve where the station is located here was added shortly after Hounslow Town opened, the line continuing on to Hounslow Barracks. At one time, trains arrived from Osterley into Hounslow Town, then reversed to go on to Hounslow Barracks over the tight curve. Eventually the old Town station closed, and the new one opened, as here. Trains never operated over all three parts of the triangle at any one period in time.

Hounslow East station (from 1 December 1925, prior to that it was names Hounslow Town, opened in 1909). The Distict Line train has hand worked-doors, open and not closed, then an acceptable hazzard, some trains still had hand-worked doors into the 1950s.
