Well spotted, This is six! I lived in the former Police House at No.314, from February 1953 until January 1965. It has been considerably extended since 1992 to form one of the largest properties on South Oxhey Estate. |

This was built and opened in the autumn of 1957. It continues to trade to this day. I remember looking at the clear exposure of Upper Chalk beneath the thin covering of Reading Beds as a 13-year-old schoolboy! |

Contemporary maps indicate the existence of the first of the lakes at Hampermill by 1938. One employee at Merchant Taylors' School informed this contributor last year that a second lake was created by 1961, between the school and Tolpits Lane. |

An interesting view, looking towards the north-west from the western edge of Oxhey Golf Course and Hampermill Spring, across an area that was to undergo development in the following decade, with factories set up on Tolpits Lane, between the LMS Railway Branch and the River Colne, in addition to Merchant Taylors' School. |
