Hi Ottomanoz and Lyn Newton, how about Shearling Way before the Market Estate was built - was it a public Highway and through road for cars? In which year did they block it off? I wonder if I could speak to one of you? (still arguing with the council) Karin |

Hi Alan, Your photos attached to pins on the Aerofilms image are great, I especially like seeing the more recent photos. It's great being able to make the comparison. Yours, Katy Britain from Above Cataloguing Team Leader |

Hello Alan my name is Pat James nee'Ridout, I lived in Halse Street. (I actually worked with your sister Beryl in the late 90's) I am interested in obtaining a photograph of the market before the second world war. I do have a recent photograph of the clock tower. Have you read the book called 'Up the Cally'? it highlights the roads and the history of the market before the war. Strange the road it does not mention is Corporation Street. hope to see a reply from anyone who can help and share information. |

Hi Alan, Queens mansions was the Block on the corner of Goodinge Rd. There is a map of the area on Wikipedia under Metropolitan Cattle market, they are shown there as Queens Arms and City Arms. Hope this is of some help. |

My mother thinks she may know you. Shirley Hodgson lived at 14 Corinth Road with 2 sisters & 3 brothers (Margaret, Evelyn, Terry, Raymond & David; mother and father Eva & Harry). Upstairs from them lived Mr & Mrs Punter and above them was their daughter Pauline. You may have even taken Shirley to hospital after an unfortunate accident with a hammer! |

It looks as if Pedlar's Walk footpath was there on this picture (1928), just as it is now. Does anybody know if you could get through from Caledonian Road past those prefabs somebody mentioned to the area of the Market? (fighting the council for service charges for roads and footpaths and it would be good to know). Karin |

ŪIlived in the Prefabs from 66-76 and you could never get from Caledonian Rd through Pedlars Way. You had to go up Market Rd or North Rd. Hope this helps Lyn |

I wonder if I could speak to you? (still arguing with the council, but also got curious what happened to those roads) Karin |
