| Such good memories , remember the charabangs leaving the Lamb for the outings , they would throw out money in pennies , etc and watch the kids scramble for it ,. | Uncle Scrooge | Monday 7th of November 2016 09:35:11 PM |

| I grew up in Corinth Road , which was oposite the road where the cattle were taken for slaughter , this road was under slum clearance ,demolished 1970 , When we had to move out . Our street door was never locked , a piearce of string was always hanging from a hole in the door , pull it and the door opened ,. We were never robbed or anything , people all knew each other , our street door was a meeting place for all my uncles friends , who scratched their names , dates , onto the wall , and in the doorway , one step up , then street door aprox 24 ins . Drovers bought cattle up from Railway sidings in Caledonian Road , where they were kept either in the Lairs , Market Road , inbetween , Market Gardens and The Wreck ( swings etc , sandpit ) , or taken straight to slaughter ,. People helped each other . Sharing such things as a cup of sugar , returning the same . Or , helping with change for the gas meter , | Uncle Scrooge | Monday 27th of February 2017 09:08:19 PM |
