I walk past here every day on my way to work at the hospital. The church looks like it was an impressive site amongst the houses and gardens. |

I wondered what this building was. I have lived in Eastbourne for 10 years an didn't know this, thanks Mikeo. It's a shame the current building is not so pleasing to look at! I have noticed there are a lot more trees lining the streets, something we should really do again on this level to brighten things up a little. |

Note the old Gildredge Hotel with the two corner turrets to the right of the railway station; the rounded booking hall to the left of the station has yet to be built. Note also Terminus Place, the first turning on the left along Terminus Road. The latter disappeared with the construction of the Arndale Centre, which opened in 1980. |

Wow! The Gildredge Hotel looks so much better than the modern pub today, which is somewhat bland in comparison. Not a watering hole I go to. It's also good to see Terminus Place before the construction of the Arndale Centre. I love seeing how things were then, especially if they look considerably different. Terminus Road could look different again if the plans to improve the Arndale go ahead....the Gildredge Pub will be no more. |
