Lady Judith Montefiore College. Lady Judith was married to Sir Moses Montefiore, the Jewish Philanthropist. Born in 1784, her father was the Dutch businessman Levi A Barnet Cohen. Her sister Hannah was married to Nathan Mayer Rothschild, the head of the Rothschild family. at the end of the rink there is a drop of about20ft,this was where chalk was taken for lime,years before.there are houses with the backs to the cliff,in 1942 i lived in no1 lime cottages, we had a short tunnel into the cliff at the end of our garden, it was used as an airraid shelter by locals,i still remember old ladies crying when we went in. Definitely Dumpton Park Drive, Ramsgate. It was Huntons Ltd, press toolmakers, from the sixties through the nineties. I worked there '77-'88. There was a major fire mid-eighties and the remainder of the original sprung maple flooring from the skating rink was lost. It's now an antiques and collectables market. Please note this is NOT Folkestone. The pictures before and after are. It is definitely Dumpton Park, near Ramsgate, as your corespondents have pointed out, which is under Thanet.
