The remains of Manor Farm. If it was still occupied at this time, it would have long ceased being a working farm, as everything around was built up by this stage. It's an impressive structure, with the farm buildings surrounding an internal courtyard. It appears to have some age to it. I think that it was swallowed up soon after this picture, when the adjacent works were expanded and encroached upon it. It is now the site of a Volvo dealership. |

This is actually a small locomotive shed on a spur of the Midland Railway built in the latter part of WW1 to service Hendon Aerodrome and which ran to the Airco aircraft works on the Edgware Road. The shed still exists, in use as a storage hut in Montrose Park. |

Highfort Court, Buck Lane. A residential folly built in 1937 to the plan of Ernest Trobridge, to resemble a fairytale castle. Adjoined by another similar architectural pastiche; Stonegate Court. |

The final version of the Red Lion public house. This was swept away a number of years ago and a large, modern care home now occupies the site. |

An incongruous tenement building known locally as 'the 'Windjammers'. Built in the 1870s, part of it once housed a local council school, as well as other tenants. The building shows roof damage sustained as the result of enemy action during WW2. It seems that no repairs were made and the building was soon to be demolished. |
