| Line to Barnard Castle and further westwards. There was a triangular junction here. The line opened 1856, and closed 1964 to passengers and 1965 to goods traffic. The first station to the west was Piercebridge - see http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/p/piercebridge/index.shtml for a history of the line.
