 The tender on this loco has a tank instead of coal. It is one of the oil burning locos of this time which was also tried by the other three companies and not found to be successful. |

At this time most of the ex LMS Beyer-Garratt locomotives were shedded at Toton for the Toton to Brent coal trains. They were being replaced with the Stanier 2-8-0 locos and later with the BR 2-10-0 s. |
