William Morris Close recreation area in centre of properties. Note in close-up view the 3 seperate sub-surface air-raid shelter placements. There are entrance pathways leading up to 2 doorways which would have had steps down to the bunks. It is also visible that the earth has been piled up over the top to create more protection. Throughout time since the war, local residents have complained that their houses are showing signs of subsidence due to the ground being weakened by the wartime air-raid shelter construction.
