My grandmother worked here, and met my grandfather who lived close by around the time this photo was taken. She told me she lived in dorms on site and had to sneak in on many occasions as young ladies were not supposed to be out later than 10pm. Another interesting fact she mentioned was that all the staff had to wear company uniforms and the company was also her legal guardian until she reached 21. My grandmother came from Cheshire and moved from there to work at this factory, so I suppose she wouldn't have met my grandfather if it hadn't been there, so I suppose in an odd way I owe it a lot.
