A string of wagons with what looks like a "Toad" (Great Western goods brake van) nearest the camera. It could be a second engine at the other end or a GW cattle wagon with the G and W painted on the end looking like the spectacles (cab windows) of an engine.
It is possible that the one engine was making up a mixed train or the passenger engine was just shunting wagons to sort out the yard during visit with the passenger train.
This would make a very fine prototype for a model railway.... an almost prefect Great Western country terminus! |
