Pinnau

A string of wagons with what looks like a "Toad" (Great Western goods brake van) nearest the camera. It could be a second engine at the other end or a GW cattle wagon with the G and W painted on the end looking like the spectacles (cab windows) of an engine. It is possible that the one engine was making up a mixed train or the passenger engine was just shunting wagons to sort out the yard during visit with the passenger train. This would make a very fine prototype for a model railway.... an almost prefect Great Western country terminus!

Hello Maurice.

Down here in West Wales we have already modelled Cardigan terminus, along with Kilgerran and Boncath stations, all in 3mm scale, and reflecting how it was circa 1930-40.

Photos' and details if you want to contact me.

There were at least four limekilns at Bridgend in the nineteenth century, but none are visible in these shots
