 A 'C' class light cruiser. Was this HMS CARDIFF paying a visit to her namesake city? There were 28 'C' class cruisers with HMS CARDIFF being a member of the CERES sub class. Some of these cruisers were converted to become anti aircraft cruisers used throughout WW2. If this was HMS CARDIFF it was scrapped in 1946. There was a later HMS CARDIFF - a type 42 destroyer. The photograph is reversed. |

That negative is back to front , HMS Cardiff (light cruiser) berthed on left as the picture stands seaward side should be to right . |
