I think this is actually the oil tanker MV 'Conch', H & W Govan Yard No. 809. However this raises a problem with either the date given for the photo, which may be one year ahead of actual, or for the date given at the link below for her launching at the Clyde Built Ships Database (Clydesite doesn't list her or her sistership 'Cliona').

The photo there clearly shows the same "castles" arrangement, and the very specific funnel base arrangement that can be seen in development in the aerial image.

Junction were the railway entered the tramway system so as one of Fairfields locomotives could collect parts etc and deliver them to the shipyard. At first steam powered and then electic using the tramway overheads. See http://www.srpsmuseum.org.uk/10014.htm

Would someone have the names of the men in this photo. One of them looks very like my grandfather who died just before I was born in 1952.
