1947 Leyland PS1 Tiger (Alexander)
The Leyland Tiger was a heavyweight half-cab single-decker bus and coach chassis built by Leyland Motors between 1927 and 1968, except the period of World War II.
The Tiger was always very closely related to the Titan of its time, sharing a ladder type frame dropped in the wheelbase and gently rising in curves over the axles, generally only differing in wheelbase. |

This is Lower Tyndrum, the station on the former Caledonian Railway from Glasgow to Oban; later belonging London Midland and Scottish Railway and by the time this picture was taken under the administration of the Railway Executive of the British Transport Commission - commonly know as British Railways.
See also SAW022898 and SAW022893 for Tyndrum Upper.
Tyndrum must be one of the smallest communities to have ever had, and especially, to still have two railway stations. |
