The island has a 'Y' shape and there are 3 Victorian forts at each headland. Built in the 1880's they had 10" RML's, rifled muzzle loaders and on top of them are WW1 and WW2 additions. The WW2 6" guns are visible. |

One of three gun sheds running down the spine of the island. The 9.2" gun can be seen in place. Island disarmed, as with all coastal sites, in the 1950's. |
