Another footbridge that long pre-dated the residential development that was to take place during the 1930s. This footbridge over the LMS railway honoured a footpath that led from Sudbury and Sheepcote Farm to Woodcock Dell Farm.

At this time, the up and down 'fast' lines appeared both to run together south of Northwick Park station outside of the 'slow' lines. At the time of this photograph, only one line passes on the north side of the platform; the local up 'slow' line. Traces of what appear to be preparatory ground works for realignment of the up 'fast' line appear evident. As is the case with most such works, the project would have been suspended by WW2 and resumed afterwards. The reconfiguration must have been anticipated some time prior to their enablement and provision made as no major structural changes were necessary to the station or its approach.

This railway overbridge at the start of Windermere Avenue duplicates a right of way that existed here, beneath the railway, prior to the residential development that took place in the 1930s.

Wooden footbridge allowing access across Watford Road to Ducker swimming pool and rifle range from the school football fields for boys from Harrow School. The bridge was dismantled at about the same time as Ducker fell out of use, perhaps the end of the 1960s..

This footbridge over the LMS railway connecting Northwick Avenue and The Ridgeway existed long before the area was developed for housing. It was built to honour a right of way (an established historical footpath). Railway companies were required by law to provide and maintain such footbridges as a condition of running their alignment across such rights of way.

This was the depot for F & C Costin, the local builders who developed much of Kenton. The buildings were still there in the 60s. It had its own railway siding connected to the LMS mainline. Site now redeveloped as Karenza Court.

This plot would remain vacant until the John Lyon public house was built here in the 1950s. The building is now an Indian restaurant.

Sheepcote Farm. An early form of dried milk powder milk was developed here.

Harrow School Farm

The Windermere public house Unusual late 30s design with external Dutch gables and internal Art Deco features. Some internal fireplace tiling continues the Dutch theme. Building is Grade II listed. It is said that the interior wood panelling was recovered from a decommissioned ocean liner.
