| Strange structures in the back garden of the older house here - I can only reason they are fruit cages. They look like modern polytunnels, but this is 1938! |

They were Greenhouses. I was raised in one of the 'new' semi-detached houses adjoining the big house that became Wood End Stores and Threshers Wine Merchants. Were you local? |
