The 1927 Ordnance Survey map (https://maps.nls.uk/view/126523055) suggests that the area of allotments immediately below was Pirrie Park, a recreation ground with tennis & bowls facilities. In this photo there are 18 ovals linked by paths so perhaps this is a golf course of some description? |
