 The forerunner of containers, a single wood construction box on a "one plank" wagon. Some were used for house removals with a container arriving at the old address on the back of a articulated lorry for loading. It was then moved over onto the one plank wagon at the local goods yard and then back onto a lorry for delivery and unloading at the new address. |
