Can't remember what they called this shop but I know it used to be a sweet shop. Used to get my fruit and nut chocolate bar from here on my way to Rashcliffe school.

Cant make it out on this photo, but they used to be an old police box stood here on Bridges Street. I lived in Lockwood from 1959 to 1965 approx

Woodhead Road School. I went to this school. Would have been about 1959. It soon closed down and I was transferred to another school in Lockwood.

Laithcroft

White Lion Pub. It was called this in 1959 and still called this when we left Lockwood in 1965. I believe the name as been changed several times since. I lived to the left of the White Lion on Laithcroft. Its a shame my house is not on the photo. It just falls short unfortunately. Hope there is more photos to come.

Back Stanley Street. My Dad Douglas Mitchell was born here in 1927.
