The former site of Factory Yard. From 1830 to the 1850's my 3X great grandparents John and Jane Curtis and their family lived at 45 Factory Yard. Jane died 12-12-1846 and John 3-11-1874 at nearby 9, Coten End. They had eight children, one of which was my 2X great grandfather William. He married in Bedworth in 1860. In 1862 he moved to Poplar in London and died of pneumonia 8-10-1870. His wife Mary returned to Bedworth with their 5 children. They had one other child; my great grandfather Benjamin, who seems to have remained in Bedworth with his mothers parents when his family went to Poplar. Benjamin married in Leamington Spa; where my grandfather Charles was born in 1887, and moved to Coventry in 1901. Here my father Leonard was born in 1927. I was born in Coventry in 1951. My name is Robert Curtis. |
