 This strip of land was intended to be used for the proposed northern extension of the Northern Line from Edgware to Brockley Hill, Elstree South and Bushey Heath. The extension plan was cancelled post WW2. Campbell Croft and Shelley Close contain post-war infill housing development, built after the land was no longer required for the railway lines.
