Appears to be a recently-built viaduct; the structure largely of concrete

It's the Silvertown Viaduct, a historically significant bridge since it is Britain's very first flyover.

Built by Dorman Long & Co of Middlesbrough. At the same time they were building this bridge, the same company was also building the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Opened in 1934, a year prior to this photograph, the bridge is still in place, and for most part, still original. The parapets were removed and replaced with steel barriers in the mid ''90's, reasons unknown. But much of the Art Deco detailing remains, and a section of original parapet has been retained on the branch to Tidal Basin.
