Agree this is likely to be 22915 or 22918. Looking at the other photos, it's definitely 2291X which narrows it down and the last digit looks like a 5 or 8. My take is that it is 22918 as it appears to have the low cab side sheet of the early belpaire rebuilds. 22915 had a high cab side sheet. There's an excellent photo of 22915 on Bescot in 1938 on p123 of Illustrated Review of Midland Locomotives Vol 4 by Essery and Jenkinson. To me, the cab looks different to this loco at Albion which points to this one being 22918 |
