To the left, Exchange Station (LNWR) to the right Victoria Station (LMS)- from 1929 the two station shared a very long platform - 669 m (2194 feet). Exchange Station closed in 1969. Victoria has been remodelled several times and in 2013 is going further reshaping. The station enlargement of 1844 sits on a burial ground and reburial is still required as work is undertaken on the station. Trains are now rather slower than in 1910 (Southport 45 mins in 1910, 71 mins in 2013).
