Kenton Lane Farm. Probably the last working farm in Kenton. It was owned latterly by J H Brazier, a family-owned dairy. It was, by then, operated more as a milk delivery depot, I think, rather than a working farm as much of the old farmland had long since disappeared beneath housing.
Other branches of the family had dairies at Preston Road and at Carpenders Park. I imagine that they all fell victim to the rise of the supermarket. Kenton Lane Farm has been redeveloped for housing, only very recently. Happily, the old (Georgian?) farmhouse and an original stable block or cow barn at the rear appear to have been retained. The new housing being concentrated on open land and an area previously occupied by a few rough and ready out buildings. |

Low bridge carrying the Wealdstone-Stanmore Railway crossing Christchurch Avenue. This required the use of special low double decker buses until the bridge was removed following closure. In hindsight, a great pity the line wasn't preserved. It would have been a great attraction, so near to central London |

Kenton Road was originally served by single deck buses until 1943 when AEC STL's (Low Bridge) double deckers were introduced. |

I think the lowbridge STLs were in turn replaced by the RLH lowbridge double deckers from about 1953. They operated out of Harrow Weald Garage on the 230 Northwick Park to Rayners Lane route until about 1969. |
