The branch line was to Luton via Ayot and Wheathampstead |

Two branches left the main line at Welwyn Garden City. The one to Luton and Dunstable had a platform on the curve away from the main line, just off-camera. The other branch turned off eastwards to Hertford. This had a very short and simple platform almost opposite the other branch's platform, both accessed from Bridge Road. |
