Empress Hall, a theatre, auditorium and latterly an ice skating rink. During WW1 it was used to house Belgian refugees.
On the site now is the Empress State Building high-rise office block, which was built in 1961 and was used to house various government departments including the MoD. It is now used as an administration building for the Metropolitan Police. |
