EPW022468 ENGLAND (1928). Bletchley Station and Fenny Stratford, Bletchley, from the north-west, 1928

I have to say that this location makes a perfect cover for a secret establishment. I can not identify the mansion house nor find the pond which I know is there today.

A rather poor image of Bletchley Station on the W.C.M.L. looking S.E. with the main line to london in the top centre and the lone to Oxford curving round behind the carriage sheds on the right. The grounds of 'Bletchley Park' (Station X - WW11 Code Breakers) is on the right of the picture with the mansion hous just out of view.

In the foreground of this photogrh is the grounds of Bletchley Park. At the time the aerial photograph eas taken the estate was still the home of the Lady Fanny Leon and her children, but ten years later it had been purchased by Admiral Hugh Sinclair for use by the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) and the Government Code and Cipher School (now known as GCHQ). During World War 2 it was of course the work place of around 9,000 people engaged in code breaking.
