Footpath from Burnage Lane to Priestnall Road, Heaton Mersey - now runs across Heaton Mersey Common, now - but not then, I think - a public open space.

The then newly constructed Kingsway (now the A34) - a bypass avoiding Rusholme, Fallowfield, Withington and Didsbury for southbound traffic out of Manchester, complete with tramway. On this photograph, the tramlines are clearly visible, running along what is now the central reservation.
