| Trams - the Huddersfield tram system was the first municipally-operated tram system in the UK. built to 4ft 7.75inch gauge to allow standard wagons to use the system, which never happened! Opened 1883 with horse-drawn trams, conversion to electric operation started in 1901, eventually reaching 39 miles of routes. Cutbacks started in 1932, and the last route was closed in June 1940. |

I believe this is the Cloth Hall, also marked as "The Exchange" on maps. Demolished in 1930, although the entrance was re-erected in Ravensknowle Park. |
