1921: No:11 High Town. Another long-lived and fondly remembered business - Cash & Co, were Boot and Shoe makers. They would certainly win the prize for largest decorative sign.

1921: No:12 High Town, was Gurneys' they were a family run business of Grocers, sellers of provisions, beer & wine merchants, which I am told included a home delivery service.

1921: High Town, No:15. Was home for many years to the Butchers shop business of Mr H. Cresswell and Son. ( I believe he also had a shop in Kington)

Lindsay Price's (Household Furnishings and Furniture) were at No:16 Commercial Street - As their business grew they moved into next-door's premises, No:17 (C.W.Slatter the Grocers) Though I am unsure of exact dates (some time between 1913 & 1934)?

Wilson Chambers (built circa 1915), Was at No:13 Commercial Street - 1921: Mr John Wilson, was a Florist and by the size of these premises he must have been a pretty successful one.

1921: Board of Trade, Labour Exchange was once on corner of Commercial St & Gomond St. 2013: Thankfully this building survived the Maylord Orchard Project - Today it is home to a Laura Ashley Shop.

1921: Gordon Workman (Workmans) was an Ironmongers on the Corner of Commercial St and Gomond St. Late 1980's Building was demolished as part of the Maylords project ( 2013: Today roughly where The Bodyshop is!)

1921:The Judge's Lodgings, was here at No:5 Commercial Street. 1930's: Judge's building was "taken-Down" the vacant site was re-developed and for the next 50 plus year the site of the Odeon Cinema/Cafe.(Not forgetting Cherry's Nightclub) Late 1980's The Odeon Cinema was itself demolished, re-developed as part of the Maylords Project. (Shops)

1921: King & Sons Ltd, were Drapers, long established family business at 3&4 Commercial Street (AKA "London House") 2013: Building still present.

1921: W.Pritchard & Sons. Were the Tailors at No's: 1&2 Commercial Street, whilst no longer at this address, they do still have a clothing shop down in King St. Now with over 100 years business in the City.
