The actual name of this mansion at the time of the photograph was Sudbury Park, and it was the home of (George) Titus Barham, the chairman of the Express Dairy Company. The mansion had been built around 1850, as Sudbury Lodge, for the Copland sisters. When Titus Barham died in 1937, he left the house and its grounds to the new Borough of Wembley, and the grounds opened as a public park, called Barham Park after the donor. Unfortunately, the mansion was not kept in good repair by the Council, and had to be demolished in 1957. |
