Calvert station on the former GCR, now LNER line at the time of the photo. The station was closed to passengers 1963, and to goods 1964. The line remains open SE-wards and with a spur to the former Oxford-Bletchley for rubbish disposal trains.

The line SE towards Quainton Road (off to the right) is now closed and lifted with HS2 now being built through this site on a broadly similar alignment. The Quainton Road - Calvert route may be relayed in the future to connect to the East West Rail route connecting Oxford and Bicester to Bletchley and on to Bedford.
