Astley Grammar School for Girls, in the process of being built. This area was known as the Yew Tree Estate on which the local council were building new homes to rehouse families from the Old Hall and Wharf Street areas of Dukinfield.

Old Victoria Road bridge over former tramway, now bricked up with the cutting filled in on one side to make Wood Street but still open cut on the other side of the road.

Looks like a Class J39 0-6-0 tender loco heading down the ex Cheshire Lines Committee tracks to Romily.

Correct, the train is the local mixed stopping freight which visited most sidings along the line to Maccelsfield and Hayfield. Its main delivery was coal to the many coal merchants based along the line.
